Bio
Joanna Sanabria is the Assistant Director of Student Success Initiatives and Analysis, at the Division of Academic and Career Success. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Princeton University and a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from Stanford University. After working for several years as a structural engineer, she decided to make a career change into higher education. She began her career at FIU in 2013 as an academic advisor for the College of Engineering and Computing. She started teaching as an adjunct instructor for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2014, and continues to teach courses today.
Joanna joined Academic and Career Success in 2018 as part of the Strategic Initiatives and Data Coaching team. Using data analytics, she works with college and university leaders to implement strategic programs and projects in support of student retention, graduation, employment, and overall student success.
